The Appointment of Very Reverend Fr. Moses Curly as Hegumen in the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Melbourne

Today, Thursday the 26th of May 2011, with the blessing of His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, His Grace Bishop Suriel, Bishop of Melbourne and affiliated regions appointed Rev. Fr. Moses Curley a Hegumen in the Coptic Orthodox Church, Diocese of Melbourne. The appointment ceremony was conducted during the prayers of the Divine Liturgy at Archangel Michael & St. Anthony’s Church in Oakleigh. Fr Moses was a Serbian Orthodox Priest.

  1. Axios, Axios, Axios...

    Sheh en rompi Father Moses!

  2. With all due respect to all.

We are all children of the one and same Creator.

May the blessings of the Holy Trinity be with us.

Wishing not to speculate and / or promote anything that is not of value towards our salvation, may the Lord Jesus forgive my words, if in error.

Fr Moses (Patrick) Curley has for one reason or another moved from the Fullness of the Church of Christ (Orthodox) to the Coptic Church. As we all know there has been and still remains a separation between the Coptic Church and the Orthodox Church due specifically to dogmatic differences which are classed as heretical.

It is a sad day when a transfer of an individual occurs from the Fullness of The Faith which they have received, especially considering the ordination of the Priesthood.

Without Prejudice I hope and pray for all that is good within the Will of God, yet I am very saddened.

  3. Axios! (And that is from an Orthodox Christian who loves both the Coptic and the Serbian Orthodox Churches!)
