The Official Icon of St. Archdeacon Habib Girgis

Our iconographer Ashraf Fayek has finalised the outline of the official icon of St. Archdeacon Habib Girgis today. It is now in the process of the placing of the gold leafing. That's a very exciting project and I am looking forward to the finished product! One of two originals will be presented to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II on 14 January at the Patriarchate in Cairo, Egypt. The second original will be displayed at the Diocese of Melbourne Headquarters as a source of blessing and inspiration.

There will be a limited special edition of this icon available after the originals are completed. It you are interested to purchase one of these special editions a webpage will be available soon to register your interest.

Our Theological College in Melbourne which is a College of The University of Divinity is in need of your financial support in order for it to expand and continue to offer more academic awards in the future and to expand our library and faculty. I hope that this small project of this unique icon, that has great significance for us will raise awareness of the unique and vital work ofSt. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Theological College.

More to come soon.

May God bless.

Introducing Eporo Tower

Located in the heart of Melbourne, Eporo Tower will attract a vibrant new community to our neighbourhood. Designed by acclaimed architects Buchan Group the building will be a stunning, contemporary blade rising towards the clouds. With sweeping curves and a shimmering glass facade the building is a spectacular monument that all in the Church will truly be proud of.

In the base of the building our stunning new Church will be located, combining cutting edge facilities with meticulous, traditional Coptic finishes. In the upper levels modern one and two bedroom apartments will offer a selection of stunning bay, city and garden views.

For a limited time, apartments are being offered exclusively to friends of the Church, ensuring those closest to the development can secure their desired location.

The launch of Eporo Tower Project will take place at 2 pm on Sunday 17 February, 2013.

Place: 279 La Trobe St. Melbourne.

Hope to see you all there for this historic occasion in the life of our Diocese. May God bless this work for the Glory of His Holy Name.
